We begin in Niagara Falls - useful for its hydro-electric power - where Nikola Tesla fails to find investment for his wireless power transmission system. Later he comes across a mysterious floating orb. Running from the orb and a cloaked figure that shoots at them, he and his assistant are rescued by the Doctor aboard a train headed to New York City.

There they find protestors goaded by none other than his competitor Thomas Edison. Over the episode we find out more about their history, their inventions and their personalities. It would seem that Tesla has a much better moral compass than Edison.

At first it appears that one of Edison's spies is behind their troubles, however there is actually an alien behind it all. The Doctor transports herself to the alien ship and we meet the Skithra and their Queen for the first time. Their ship of stolen and scavenged parts needs repair and the Queen wants Tesla to be their engineer and make it work properly. The Doctor is having none of it and contrives for the Skithra to be forced to leave Earth.

On the whole, it's not a bad episode but it's not a great one either. I'm tiring of episodes about a famous figure we should meet and hear about how they changed the world (eg. Tesla, Ada Lovelace, Rosa Parks). I've also got to say, that when I first saw the Queen of Skithra, I thought I was looking at the Raknoss.
