A very clever, intriguing and spooky episode. The Doctor takes Donna to the greatest library in the Universe. But the Vashna Nerada - basically the shadows - have killed everyone. This is the first part of a two-part episode - and it basically lays out the land and leaves many questions open and un-answered.

There's some great ideas here too. Spoilers is one. The idea that you shouldn't know your future. And then there's the archaeologist River Song. She summoned the Doctor on his psychic paper. She knows who he is, but the Doctor hasn't met her yet. She has the Doctor's sonic screwdriver, which he would never give to anyone. Just who is she? She seems to be a major figure from his future, which means we might see a lot more of her.

I loved this episode. Can't wait for the second part so I can figure out what it's all about.
