I'm not a big fan of Kewell these days, but credit where credit's due, his late goal was very well taken and put us into the semi-finals. A huge result after our disappointing exit in 2007.

Australia and Iraq have some history now, with both sides recording some key wins. Significantly, Australia's performance improved over their last match. It needed to, but in the end, they probably deserved the win. Iraq had its moments and played very well, but Australia created more chances and edged Iraq in performance.

We survived the match with no injuries. There were a few yellow cards, but I think they're wiped for semi-finals, so hopefully they won't be significant. Emerton will return from suspension.

Our opponent in the semi-finals is Uzbekistan, probably the weakest of the remaining other semi-finalists. It won't be an easy match though. Uzbekistan have an extra day to recover and weren't pushed into 30 minutes of extra-time either. That said, this looks like an excellent chance to make the final.

The other semi-final will feature Korea (who accounted for Iran) and Japan who accounted for Qatar (hah!). Some good football lies ahead.
