Iraq defeated Saudi Arabia 1-0 in normal time to claim their first Asian Cup title. A little surprising perhaps, but I'm pleased as I was barracking for them.

South Korea defeated Japan in the play-off for third and fourth place. Normally this match has little going for it, but the AFC announced prior to the game, that the top three teams at this Asian Cup will qualify for the next one. So the winner had a lot to play for. Incredibly South Korea won their third consecutive penalty shoot out (6-5) after their third consecutive scoreless draw.
