Asian Cup Semi-Finals

The Asian Cup semi-finals, sans Australia, were played overnight. Saudi Arabia defeated Japan 3-2 in normal time, while Iraq defeated South Korea on penalties after the match finished 0-0.

So we have a final that few would have predicted. I suspect Saudi Arabia will win, but I'm barracking for Iraq given their civil war and struggles at home. News of their semi-final win was greeted with great joy in Iraq and ritual gun-fire into the air. Tragically, militia took the opportunity to murder celebrating Iraqis in a sad reminder of the sectarian violence.
