You don't take a lot from friendlies, but it's nice to win. Losing 1-3 is not a disaster for the same reason, but you'd rather not lose like this in your last warm-up match before a big tournament. By all accounts, the USA played well and deserved their win. They're also rated a better side than Denmark, putting our last friendly in perspective.

On the whole, it sounds like we were outplayed in the first half and could have been well behind on the scoresheet. We played better in the second half before giving away a late goal. Our defence is a big worry. It's hard to see us coming from behind in our group games, so we must improve here. Our fitness and sharpness is also a concern. If we don't have a solid platform at the back and in the mid-field, we'll really struggle to win games. And we need a least one win.

In other news, players seems to be dropping like flies. England's captain, Rio Ferdinand, is out. C'ote d'Ivoire star, Didier Drogba has a fractured arm. It seems unlikely he'll play, but his country is desperate and hasn't ruled him out yet.
