A thrilling, high quality match between two good sides playing good football. The Saudis backed by a huge crowd got off to a dream start with an early goal. Australia worked they way back into with several good chances before equalising just before half-time.

In the second half it was Australia who took the lead before being pegged back by a determined Saudi outfit. With 10 minutes left to play the Saudis threw everything at the Aussies and it was only a superb save from Mat Ryan that kept them from taking all three points.

In the end an away draw is a pretty good result. While we might be disappointed not to have gone on with it at 2-1, we were also very lucky not to lose. So I think we take the point and move on.
