I'm in the process of obtaining my motorcycle riders license. I thought I'd make a start on the knowledge tests. So I decided to take the online practice test before I brushed up on my road rules and read the motorcycle-specific rules for the first time. I figured this would give me an idea of how much work I needed to put in.
The online test was 45 questions and they took me about 15 minutes. The trouble was I scored 45/45. That's right 100% with no study. I think there's something wrong with the test. The questions were all multiple choice with three answers to choose from. Most times one of the answers was simply ridiculous and could be ignored, eg. if you see an ambulance, you should (a) let it pass and follow closely behind. That left two to choose from and only a little bit of common sense was required to get it right. It seems I can get a motorcycle license with virtually no understanding of the motorcycle rules. Hardly a satisfactory outcome.

Pre-Learner Training
The pre-learner practical training you are required to do is much tougher. The course was excellent and I learnt a lot over 7 hours (over 2 sessions). The instructor felt I was a competent to get my L's. I hope he's right. I went and got my L's today. The test was exactly like the simulation and I got 100%. Now all I need is a bike :)
